Rebuilds almost always seem to have problems within 6 months or so (at least that's my experience). If you *WANT* to pull the engine twice a year then go for monster rebuild. If you prefer something that is more reliable I'd go with new bottom end. You will definitely spend as much or more rebuilding a $250 bare block than you will on a new shortblock. Also, if you can get one for $2,400 then you better grab it fast. That's a smoking deal. Nissan COST is $2350 and I don't know a service manager in his right mind that would give you a big ticket item at a 2% gross margin. Good luck. I just got my brand new shortblock installed and running this weekend. I'm happy I went this route. Not a single problem so far and it's purring like a kitten (even w/ all my bolt-on mods attached).
